A Note from the Adjudicator
The quality of the entries this year was exceptionally high
higher
, perhaps than in any of the four or five years that I have judged
the competition. So many entries could have made it into the final
shortlist and the top three are almost inter-changeable with any
of the 'highly commended poems'. That being said, there have to
be winners--a term I dislike
and runners up.
