Some
comments from Delegates of the 2009 conference
"This was my first time
at Winchester but it certainly won't be my last! Michael Morpurgo's
address was fantastic!"
"Thank you for such a
dynamic and motivating Writers' Conference. It was extremely helpful
and especially encouraging to be named second place in the Lifewriting
Competition."
"So much positive stuff
going on."
"We really enjoyed the
workshops...definitely worth the trip from Cornwall."
"Congratulations! Another
wonderful - even more wonderful event! (What are we doing for
the 30th birthday next year?)"
"Many of my adult students
attended and loved it. Well done!"
"Just to say thank you
for the enjoyable experience in Winchester last week. As many
have said, the Michael Morpurgo plenary alone would been worth
the trip but I learned a great deal from the workshop on children's
writing - almost certainly more than the students. And it was
good to meet with so much enthusiasm for a subject - writing -
that usually causes me a lot more anguish than pleasure."
"It could have been Michael Morpurgo - who was simply brilliant.
It could have been the hosts of talks or workshops - they were
great value. It could have been my one-to-one contacts - who offered
encouragement and strong advice in equal measure. But it was none
of these highly commended individuals.
The greatest source of inspiriaton was the collective ranks
of warm and generous writers, each with personal stories to tell,
but also ears to listen with. I met some lovely people, men and
women of all ages. I found common ground and new insights and,
within me, a strong resolve to be back next year."
